Can you describe your current role and responsibilities?
I am a Financial Adviser helping individuals, families and business owners make informed decisions about their finances. My role covers pensions advice, including final salary and defined benefit pensions, investment planning, estate planning and protection. I work closely with clients to understand their goals, whether that is preparing for retirement, building long-term wealth, protecting their family or passing assets on to future generations.
What has been your journey so far?
I graduated with a 2:1 honours degree in Philosophy from Southampton University before beginning my career in pensions administration in Bristol. During this time, I completed my Level 4 adviser qualifications and developed a strong understanding of pensions, retirement planning and long-term financial planning.
In 2013, I became a Financial Adviser and have spent more than a decade helping clients navigate important financial decisions. Throughout my career, I have worked with individuals at different stages of life, from those building wealth and planning for retirement to those seeking guidance on inheritance planning and protecting their family’s future.
What do you enjoy most about working in your field?
One of the most rewarding aspects of being a Financial Adviser is building long-term relationships with clients. Every person has a unique story, different priorities and different goals, which makes every conversation interesting.
I particularly enjoy helping clients gain clarity and confidence around their financial future. Whether I’m supporting someone approaching retirement, helping a family organise their finances or providing reassurance during periods of market uncertainty, I value being able to make a meaningful difference to people’s lives.
What’s a fun fact about you or an interesting hobby you enjoy?
Outside of work, I enjoy travelling, spending time with family and keeping active. One of my more unusual experiences was touring around Europe with rapper and actor Ice-T during my younger years, which gave me a unique insight into life on the road and the music industry.
